Zambia 2014 & Touching Africa (part 1)

A couple of friends in Jesus visited the Du Preez family in December 2014. We heard about the good work being done and we wanted to be part of it - not only to help but drum up more support for the work done amoung the people of Zambia. We enjoyed ourselves being a blessing to others during our visit.

The Touching Africa Foundation aims to not only to bless the Lozi people with donations from all over the world, but to empower them with self development. This includes agriculture, conservation, education, health, skills development, etc. Billions in US dollars have been poured into Africa but still the infrastructure remains below standard and in some cases lacking continuity & improvement - this foundation aims to reverse this trend.

On our way to the to Leseli Farm we stopped for interaction and greeting on the local friends. Young and old shared in the sweets.

Mighty Men Tartan

Tartans 4 Africa, has designed the world`s first ever Christian Tartan which has become the biggest talked about topic in the Christian World.

EXPLANATION OF THE COLOURS

All the colours used in this design was taken from scripture. It starts with Jesus`s suffering on the cross and then follows into the commitment/promise He made to us.

The colours from the centre of the cross outwards are explained as follows:
WHITE
The White Cross is the everlasting symbol of Christianity.
It represents Christ Personified, for he died on that cross for YOU!
Daniel 12:10             "We shall be purified, made white"
Revelation 7:13       “They washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb”

RED
The Red represents the Blood of Christ shed for us.
Rev 1:5          “To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood”
Nahum 2:3    “The shields of his Mighty Men are made red”
A fitting description for the Mighty Men Tartan, if ever there was one.

BLACK
Black is primarily associated with the negative aspects of human life –
Sin, Disease, Darkness, Death and Sorrow
Sin – John1:29
Disease - Job 30:30
Darkness - Revelation 6:12,  Death – Job 10:20
Sorrow – Psalm 13:2

PURPLE
Purple is the cloak of Royalty in the Kingdom of God.
John 19:2  "The soldiers twisted a crown of thorns on his head and clothed him in a Purple robe proclaiming Him "The King of the Jews”

SILVER
Silver represents The Armour of God.
Bright and Metallic.
The Helmet of Salvation,
The Breastplate of Righteousness,
The Shield of Faith,
The Sword of the Spirit.
The Belt of Truth and
The Foot shod in Peace.
Ephesians 6:10-18   “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand (oppose, resist and stand your ground) the evil of the day”

GREEN
Green represents Life and growth!  JESUS IS ALIVE!!!! Psalm 103:15   "As for man, his days are like grass, so he will flourish! ”   Malachi 4:2      “With healing in his wings” You shall be cured, healed, refreshed and delivered......
Psalm 23:2       “Lie down in green pastures”

A NEVER ENDING LIFE IN GOD, A SYMBOL OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH!!!!!!
